To modify the preferences of Totem Movie Player, choose . The Preferences dialogue contains the following tabbed sections:
- Networking

Select network connection speed from the Connection speed drop-down list box.
- TV-Out

No TV-out: select this option if you have no TV-out connection (Selected by default if you don't have an TV-out interface).

TV-out in fullscreen by Nvidia (NTSC): select this option if you want TV-out connection in NTSC.

TV-out in fullscreen by Nvidia (PAL): select this option if you want TV-out connection in PAL.
- Text Subtitles

Font: select this option to change the font used to display subtitles.

Encoding: select this option to change the
encoding used to display subtitles.
- Display

Select the resize option if you want Totem Movie Player to automatically resize the window when a new video is loaded.
- Visual Effects

Visual: select this option to show visual effects while an audio file is playing.

Type of visualisation: select type of visualisation from the drop-down list box.

Visualisation size: select visualisation size from the drop-down list box.
- Colour balance

Brightness: use the slider to specify the level of brightness.

Contrast: use the slider to specify the level of contrast.

Saturation: use the slider to specify the level of saturation.
