Annotating Albums:
It's a good idea to give your album a name. Album Shaper allows you to do this by filling in the text fields in the album annotation frame at the top left of the window. An album description and list of authors, while not required, may also be used.
If you would like your album to have a cover photo, drag and drop one of the photos onto the album annotation frame at the top left of the window. A smaller version of the photo will slide in from the left indicating the cover photo has been set. This image can be replaced by dropping a different image onto this region. In addition, cover photos can be set by right-clicking or command clicking on a photo and select Set album image.
Collections should have names just like albums and setting these is similar to setting that of the album itself. When selected, a collection's name, description, and representative photo are displayed at the top of the window. The representative photo is used as the thumbnail on the album coverpage and is useful for identifying one collection from another. Setting a collection photo is identical to setting the album photo, simply drag a photo onto the collection annotation frame or use the Set collection image context menu option. When set, the collection icon on the collections pane should update with the collection name and photo.
Album and collection photos are sometimes not desired. In order to remove an existing album or collection photo, mouse over the image at the top and click on the red icon that appears. The image should disappear to the left. If all these animations are driving you nuts, you can disable them under Tools->Settings
At this point you know how to annotate your albums and collections. It is only natural that you should be able to annotate your photos as well. In order to set the description for a given photo, mouse over it and click the blue "i" icon that appears on the lower right. The photo should expand and provide a larger text area for you to type a lengthy description. Once you're done simply click off the photo or hit escape and the photo will collapse back down to it's normal size. Photo descriptions may also be set using the image editing interface.
Every once in a while you'll want to strip out a bunch of photo descriptions. To do so, simply select the photos in question and under the Tools menu select Remove selected photo descriptions. Since this is a destructive action you will be warned before proceeding.
