Get IP is a small program that shows your hostname and your local IP addresses. This information can be copied to your clipboard for future use in any other application. Gamers especially will appreciate this. How many times have you needed to give someone your IP address so you can play a game online? Now, with Get IP, you can view your hostname and your local IP addresses by simply loading the software. What's more, you can make Get IP automatically copy this information to the clipboard, then either minimize it to your system tray or taskbar for quick and easy access or close the program entirely, so in a flash you have the information you want about your Internet connection.
New in version 1.54 is an option to display both your hostname and IP in the system tray function ToolTip. The links to the Glynsoft Web site and to the Get IP help files also have been updated.
Editor's review of Get IP
Generally speaking, this app's title says all you need to know, since the program's primary mission is to display your computer's IP address. As soon as you activate it, Get IP immediately displays your host name and IP address. Additionally, the utility can copy your IP address and hostname to your clipboard. You also can minimize the app to your system tray or have the program show the selected IP all the time. As a free application, Get IP works well for people who can't remember the Windows commands that display a machine's IP.
This program only gives LAN IP, so if you are behind the router, find your IP yourself. No extra info than ipconfig would not provide.
And I give this program thumbs down because it restarted my computer when uninstalling. WITHOUT ASKING!!!

Simple, easy, accurate, customizable. Runs in the background. One click has your IP copied straight to your clipboard, ready to paste, nothing to close or minimize.
