1. Introduction:

SPLAT! is a remake of the famous board game known as "Dont Get Angry", "Parcheesi", "Parchisi", "Ludo Game" etc. (different countries call it in different ways with slight difference in the gameplay).

This is an online version of the game where you can connect to others via public game server list.
It also has a few extras (read below)

2. Play Online:

3. System Requierments:

Minimum system:

• OS: Windows 98/ME, 2000, XP, Vista
• DirectX: 8.1
• CPU: 800 MHz
• RAM: 128 MB
• Sound: Any Direct X Compatible Sound Card
• Network: Internet connection
• Mouse and keyboard

4. Online Games:

Refresh: if no games are available, try pressing refresh button to retrieve newer gamelist from server.

Host: in order to host a public online game, make sure you have a PUBLIC IP so the others can connect you. If not you can play with others in the local network by telling them to specify your IP.

Join: to join in online game choose from the list or specify IP. You must have the same version of the game as the server's (see Ver column in the list).

Skins: select how your pawns will look. You can add more skins by copying suitable *.gif files in the "Pawns\" folder. The skins must be grayscaled or you won't get correct colors in the game.

Firewalls: the game uses port 80 to retrieve public games list and 5050 to connect to players. If you have problems connecting in the game, you should try opening those ports, add the game in the trusted applications list in your firewall or completely turning it off.

5. Gameplay:

Basics:

The gameplay is simple. Roll the dice, move a pawn using the mouse.
To move out a pawn from the start, you must roll a 6.
If you roll 6, after you make your turn, you can roll again.
If your pawns are still at the start, you can roll the dice 3 times instead of 1.
Step on rival's pawn to eliminate it (and move it back to Start position).
To select a player(color), use the "Player Select" menu in the bottom right corner. The white player means "none".

Power Ups:

This version of the famous board game has some extras called Power Ups. They pop up at the end of every turn on a random spot via spot icon. To get that power up, one of your pawns must end it's turn on that exact spot. Once you have such a power up, it's icon will show up in your power up slot (the box in the center). Now you can use it by clicking on it and then click on one of your pawns that you wish to use it. You can also discard unwanted power ups as you can carry only one. Most of the powerups are traps for the other pawns (including yours). The power ups in the game are listed here:

• Shock - shocks a passing on pawn and stops it from continueing it's turn.
• Mine - if a pawn's turn ends on this spot, BOOM... starts all over again :P
• Glue - glues down a passing pawn for a few turns.
• Shield - shileds the pawn for a few turns.
• Bomb - if the explosion is near your pawns, makes them slower for a few turns.
• Sh*t - well..... the victum gets all stinky, which slows him down for a few turns.
• The Eye - Invisible for a few turns.
• x2 - doubles your current turn.

Taunts:

Using the F1-F12 or CTRL+F1-F12 keys, you send taunts to your opponents and get them really mad :P
Note: there are more taunts... try find them on the keyboard (in combination with CTRL)
Note2: if you roll 6es 3 times in one turn, or step on someone 3 times, you'll hear another taunt (and icon will show up :P)

Security:

In case of unwanted players, the host can click on their names to kick them.
You can also turn off your chat using the blue speaker at the bottom of the ChatBox.

6. Settings:

Most of the settings are set while playing:

• Background color - change the background color using rgb set up.
• Interface color - change the interface color using rgb set up.
• Speaker Button (Yellow) - turn on/off game sound.
• Radio - turn on/off taunts (see above) .
• Maximum Power Ups (host only)- sets the maximum number power ups that can pop up.
• Language (in lobby) - change game Language (add more language files in "Language\" folder)
• ALT+Enter - Fullscreen/Window mode switch

7. Administration:

While playing, you can use the chat as a console to type in a few commands with "/" in front:

• show_pawnid - shows the ids of the pawns above them (used in other commands).
• fps - show/hide game fps .
• send_synch - synchronizes game data with the host (use if something goes wrong).
• synch - same as above but shorter to type. :D
• set_name [new name] - sets your nickname to [new name]
• set_skins_allowed [0/1] - sets whether you will download other player's skins use default ones.

As a Host, you have a few more commands available to administrate the game:

• send_synch (or just synch)- synchronizes all the players with the game data of the host.
• move_pawn [player 1-4] [pawnid 0-3] [n-th spot] - moves the [player]'s pawn with id [pawnid] on the [n-th] spot of it's course (n=0 -> start position).
• set_powerup [player 1-4] [powerup id 1-8] - set's the [player]'s power up to [powerup id].
• powerup_popup [player 1-4] pops up a power up on a random game field.
• set_gamename [new game name] - sets game name.
• set_password [new password] - sets new password. Leave blank to remove password.
• player_restart [player 1-4] - restarts [player]'s pawns & powerup.
• clear_banlist - clear all IPs from the banlist

NameBox:

• Left click on a name from the NameBox will kick player.
• Right click on a name from the NameBox will ban player.

Please report any bugs you encounter. It would be helpful if you send "game_errors.log" if there's one in the game folder.

10. License Stuff:

License?! Pfff.. what's that?! :D
This stuff's totally FREE! No epay, noebay no accounts, no registrations, no monthly fees, no spam, no such sh*ts. You can give it to your friends (I beg you!!! :D ), delete, even burn this game if you want to.
Just needed to waste a little bit more of your HDD space with this pointless text :D
You must excuse me.. it's 2:30 in the morning and I haven't got a goodnight sleep for a looooong time... :D


Note to Game Maker dudes who will decompile the game: I don't care if you have the source... as long as you don't abuse it to do sh*tty stuff or edit it and take credit for my game. I'll be glad to give you the source for learning purposes!
